Some food is actually poison

Many years ago, we would occasionally watch a TV show called “Trading Spouses”. We were NOT vegan at the time and I admittedly didn’t know much about nutrition, so it had to have been more than 15 years ago.

One episode in particular - I have thought about several times since…

For those not familiar with the show: Two families would trade one parent for the week…the mom or dad would switch and live as the ‘mom’ or ‘dad’ for 1 week. Initially they had to follow the house rules and lifestyle of the host family, then the host family had to follow the house rules and lifestyle of the visiting parent. This was supposed to be not-optional, meaning they HAD to follow the rules and lifestyle even if in direct opposition to their own.

Here’s this family, they avoid fast food and sugar and try to keep their kids eating mainly fruits and vegetables. They switch with a mother who doesn’t believe diet matters very much…

The first few days are relatively quiet other than pseudo-mom protesting she wants crap food available as she doesn’t like their food. When ‘rule change’ comes she immediately gets crap food and encourages the kids to consume it. The dad is visibly upset but hey - you signed up for this so not sure what you expected…

The next day those two kids were so sick. They were having GI problems and felt nauseous and overall terrible. It was a rather quick systemic response to being in dire need of detox from poison.

But here’s the thing…which I find insane now, looking back…at the time we thought it was the kids that were nuts. My husband and I had a conversation in which we said we actually felt bad for the kids, at least partially believing that the parents had them so food-neurotic that they THOUGHT they would get extremely sick and therefore they did.

I just have to say - I WAS SO F*CKING STUPID BACK THEN!!!!

I was wrong. So wrong. Those kids were legitimately sick. I didn’t truly understand food as medicine - or poison - back then. Their system wasn’t used to poison, so they had an immediate detox response. Most people are so poisoned daily they just constantly ‘leak’ the body’s attempts at detox and therefore are cyclically or chronically ill with a variety of manifestations. It is also why people who do start to eat properly and care for their inner terrain can feel temporarily unwell during this change, as your body starts the first real detox opportunity it has had for a long time. You now need to give it the chance to heal.

Since that time, I have learned a lot, and have now witnessed this response first-hand. Changes in diet/introducing toxins, I have witnessed rapid detox response ('illness'). I have also witnessed this response stretching out with each episode as the child's body becomes chronically poisoned and less able to stage an adequate detox.

With all I have learned and since dedicated myself to studying, I am completely convinced we were utterly wrong. Those children absolutely were made acutely ill because their relatively ‘clean’ system was suddenly infused with a toxin. They were basically poisoned.

What we consume can be health-promoting, or it can be a form of toxins and poisons, but understand that EVERYTHING we consume or absorb affects our body, health (both physical and mental health), and our optimal functioning.

People need to see it for what it is. If they don’t they will endlessly be seeking outside their own body for the answer and they will fail to understand the root cause of their issues, they will unwittingly continue to introduce more poisons and toxins, and they will continue to cultivate chronic illness within themselves and will inflict the same fate on those they love.
